How many companies involved in the simplest business transaction ?

Take 1 order from a good client, receive 450 chinese packed shower curtains, cut in half and deliver eventually to a university the 900 newly created items.

How many and light bulbs come to mind but think of the people involved in this very simple business transaction ?

I count 7 factories in the far east (fibres, fabric, cmt sewing, plastic hooks and plastic bag packaging, card carton packaging, and sea freight to the UK).  My client bought the curtains from the UK Wholesaler, and delivered them to our factory to re-work.  We deliver under plain cover to the person my client sold them to and they then deliver to the university (I think) that takes these for their grubby students. 11 companies involved so far... need I go on... and then add in the banks that would have been involved in this which must be at least 11 banks involved if there are 11 companies being paid. So my guess is 22 companies to make and deliver 900 shower curtains ... 23 if you count the bin-men that will eventually take them away when "used".

Interesting thoughts at lunch time.
